Months before the wedding day there’s detailed planning and preparing. There's narrowing down invites, picking cake, choosing location, selecting bridal party gifts, deciding bridal party attire, etc… a bride can become bombarded by the many things that need to be done before the BIG DAY!!! One thing for sure, every bride wants to fit in their wedding dress.
There are many reasons people desire to be healthy. Whether it’s to lose weight, have longevity, or tired of being sickly there’s ultimately only two reasons why one should want health. God is the Creator & Redeemer of their body. You may ask yourself, “What does that have to do with me?” It has everything to do with you. When you understand who God is, then you will understand who you are and why you were created.
The first two chapters of Genesis give a clear overview on the creation week. On the 6th day of the creation week “God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” Genesis 1:26 God wanted all humanity to resemble Him in character. He also desires that men and women may have mental & physical well being. Genesis 1:27; 3 John 2.
What is the character of God?
Here are a few scriptures that describe the character of God.
“The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty.” Exodus 34: 6, 7
“Let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight” Jeremiah 9:24
“As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” Ezekial 33:11
John 4:8 says, “God is love.”
These scriptures give a clearer understanding of the character of God the Creator. God is our perfect example on how to demonstrate love. Love is not something He does, it’s something He IS. That means He thinks love, He feels love, He shows love. Are you getting the picture? He originally created man and woman with these attributes to be able to love like He loves, but then sin entered the world through disobedience. That love turned into selfishness which will lead to death. Humanity was forever marred by that one act of disobedience. Not only was the character marred, the physical body was too. “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 When John the Baptist saw Jesus approaching him, he said, "the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29
That is EXCITING news!!! Jesus has taken away your sins. He took what you deserve, and is giving you what He deserves. He has given you the precious gift of His life. If He was willing to give up His perfect life to set you free, then why wouldn't you want to give up your imperfect life to live for Him? His life supplies the ability to preform the original reason you were created, which was to be in His image. Jesus stepped in and became your Knight and Shining Armor. So "let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready." Revelation 19:7 That bride is YOU!! Have you made yourself READY?
